Phil Behn (RHB)
Vastly experienced early order batsman who was, earlier in his career, a large runscorer in many ways for Lexden. Advancing years have removed the quick single from his repertoire and twos are also becoming a distant memory. Always able to bring a smile to the faces of his colleagues with a choice remark, his best moments now generally happen inside the pavilion.
M 43, R 428 (10.19), W 4 (42.75), Ct 10.
Michael Abrey (LHB/SLA)
Hard hitting high order batsman with a solid record and slow left armer although his medium pacers are chucks! Former Colt who returned to the club in 2006 after a brief spell overseas and responded by scoring the highest aggregate runs and belted the most sixes. Capable fieldsman who is, on occasions, surprising mobile for his physique. Recently became a father for the first time.
M 242, R 4627 (23.72), W 118 (28.80), Ct 54, St 2.
Richard Fosker (LHB/LM)
Mid-to-lower order left hand bat and bustling medium pace bowler whose main claims to fame seem to be a desire to drive with lunatic pace and a reputation to challenge all at the tea table. Prefers to field without the use of his hands and colleagues have coined a new verb 'to fosker', meaning to commit a serious fielding misdemeanour by failing to make use of the part of the anatomy below the wrist. In his opinion, a highly underrated prospect for the future. Pads up outside leg stump!
M 69, R 594 (11.64), W 26 (39.03), Ct 6.
Dennis Herring (RHB/WK)
Dependable batsman and very keen wicket keeper who was another to move the few miles through the countryside from Birch & Layer Breton when they lost their ground.
M 40, R 597 (18.09), W 3 (12.33), Ct 16, St 6.
Garry Green (RHB/RM)
Former Taverners captain who came to Abberton via Boxted. Low order batsman who is surely capable of better that his statistics suggest and a steady, dependable right arm medium pacer who strangely now seems to bowl a tad brisker than he did ten years ago. Would surely profit from playing more regularly as he spends his Sundays shopping.
