(statistics do not include current season)

James Carroll (LHB)

A fitness fanatic who is both an enthusiastic and effective fielder. A steady left handed bastman who accumulates his runs without fuss and helps his partners with decisive and brisk running between the wickets. In his sixteenth season with the club and, having become wed towards the end of last season, is about to produce his first progeny. Holds the record for the number of lbw decisions awarded agsinst his colleagues in a single over.

M 236, R 3340 (17.30), W 16 (36.37), Ct 40.

Mark Tokley (RHB/RM)

Aggressive 'two shot' lower order batsman who has played some valuable innings for the club. Took up the game at a fairly late age, otherwise he may have become a world beater. Often gains prodigious swing and can be relied upon for wholehearted excitement mixed with self-praise when he induces a false shot. By his own admission, a fantasticly safe pair of hands in the field. Also a qualified umpire and, somewhat worryingly, possesses a pilot's licence.

M 297, R 2112 (12.80), W 408 (21.28), Ct 94.

Barry Ball (RHB/SRA!/WK)

Elder statesman of the club who requires just one half century to reach the impressive milestone of 100 fifties, having amassed nearly 17,000 runs in total. Somehow has also managed to tempt more than 100 batsman with his flighted filth. Performed behind the sticks during his earlier days and was previously with Lexden. Recently surprised the younger element of the club by passing the Porky Chili Challenge. Ardent follower of the Star crossword and lateley a keen cyclist.

M 826, R 16798 (24.27), W 114 (30.63), Ct 198, St 14.

Shaun Whitfield (RHB)

A conscientious opening batsman who doesn't take too kindly to being dismissed and holds the record of taking five hours seventeen minutes and 43 seconds to reach the pavilion following a debatable lbw decision. Dependable gully fieldsman and occasional wicket keeper who is very quick to act when tea is served. Previously played for Prettgate and Elmstead; he once carried his bat for 2* when the team was humbled for 31.

M 293, R 4713 (18.26), W 0, Ct 54, St 3.

Tom Henderson (RHB/OB)

A fit Henderson in full flow is a formidable sight for an opponent but, sadly, these occasions a rarity these days due to long-standing knee injuries and and a wide-ranging array of family commitments. An early order batsman who gives the blade the full flow, he has played many stirring knocks. His off breaks are, at best, optimistic although a BB of 5-15 is respectable. Very safe fieldsman.

M 308, R 5511 (23.85), W 180 (31.73), Ct 80.
