FIVE WEEKEND TONS FOR ABBERTON [13/05/08 02:19:57]
Sunday was a special day for Abberton & District Cricket Club. No fewer than four of our players made a century which was certainly a club record and it was the first time that a father and son had made three figures on the same day!
Our South African Kemsley Robb ended a disappointing run by smashing 151 as the 1st XI saw off Chappel & Wakes Colne by 193 runs at The Brow whilst, in the reverse fixture, seventeen-year-old Ryan Brown hit his maiden ton with 104 not out as Abberton triumphed by 69 runs at the Hobbies.
In the 3rd XI game with Cavaliers at the Rugby Club, Kevin Brown (106) and Dennis Herring (116 not out) starred in a third wicket partnership of 206 as the visitors posted 283-4, enough to see them home by 94 runs.
On Saturday, father-to-be Mike Abrey also was in the runs with a century in the TCL home victory over Felixstowe.
