Best non-professional played with: Nick Parsloe who played a few games for Somerset II - such a natural sportsman; our own Shaun Calladine is not far behind
Biggest cricketing influence: I really can't think of anybody in particular apart from possibly the legendary J V 'The Old Goat' Wright who always said that I was "bloody awful"!

Least favourite local ground: Great Bentley and West Mersea (both pigs to keep wicket on)
Favourite Abberton player: Barry Rudlin

Other sports played: Boxing, football, rugby, squash, golf (as with cricket, not terribly well!)
Most memorable sporting moment: Being lucky enough to be present at the 1966 World Cup final (the occasion became more significant as I grew older)
Advice for young players: Play as much as you can whilst you are young and fit enough, learn to be part of a team (you need this with everything in life), always show respect to opponents, team mates and officials and, above all, NEVER cheat!
Favourite food: Probably Thai, although my mother-in-law's Steak and Kidney pud is a bit special
Favourite drink: Peppertree Shiraz, decent coffee
Biggest fear in life: Losing health and fitness, fish with bones
Newspaper read: Racing Post
Favourite 'lower shelf' periodical: Sainsbury's Magazine (if you haven't tried it, you should)
