IMPRESSIVE TURNOUT FOR AWARDS DINNER [06/11/07 19:58:11]

Following the sterling efforts of John Everett and, more latterly, Marc Fox, a total of 62 members and their guests will gather for the ADCC 2007 Awards Dinner and Dance on Saturday at the Marks Tey Hotel (pictured above right).

Despite the alternative attraction of Strictly Come Dancing, a favourite of many of the more mature members (in terms of age), the turnout is fairly impressive and no doubt there will be some dancing of an entirely different kind by the end of the evening!

Head of Security John Stockbridge (68) will be attending in his official capacity to ensure that things don't get out of hand although, if his achievements this season are anything to go by, the MTH could well have a problem on their hands as he has been about as effective as an ashtray on a motorcycle and is still haunted by calls for his resignation from many quarters.

Commonsense has prevailed with Ashley Edwards (below right) acting as MC for the evening. Steve Whtifield did volunteer for the position but the Hotel were quick to point out that they could not keep the function room open for the amount of time necessary for him to deliver his speech and they did not have sufficent beds available for overnight stays!
