SPRUCED UP SITE SETS VISITOR RECORDS [17/07/07 12:00:18]

With the website two motnhs old and attracting a healthy flow of visitors throughout the week, it was becoming apparent that the volume of content demanded a structured layout that was both more pleasing to the eye and would achieve greater efficiency in page navigation.

David Robbins, a specialist web developer and wannabe project manager from Bethnal Green was consulted over the weekend and he imparted some extremely useful advice which resulted in a total revamp of the all-important home page. He is also highly proficient in Adobe Photoshop, which the Editor most certainly is not!

Although this portal may seem still seem crowded, navigation to other areas of the site should be simpler and the use of dedicated thumbnails will make the pages quicker and smoother to load.

Reception to the new layout has so far been very encouraging amongst club members with favourable comment received both verbally and in that bulging sack of mail which has received a great deal of recent publicity.

The first day under the new appearance resulted in an astonishing 2133 pageviews; by far the highest degree of traffic enjoyed by the site since the re-launch in early May, beating the previous best of 1852 on 4 June by over 15%!

As always, we are keen to receive constructive comment on any aspect of the site and are keen to introduce improvements.
