NEW ROLLER PLEASES GROUNDSTAFF [06/07/07 06:21:03]

ADCC proudly unveiled its new roller earlier this week. The magnificent beast pictured in the sequence below, sitting astride the auto roller is Ground Curator John Ward (a single seldom used cylinder 1947 model). He was understandably delighted with what is a major capital expenditure for the club and considers it vital to in the quest to improve the overall quality of the playing surface.

The old roller, rather like the main users, is very old and struggling to fulfil its function although it will still be useful for vibrating purposes and will permit simultaneous strip rolling.

The club are indebted to the Baxters Food Group who provided an extremely generous donation which has allowed the machine to be purchased at an earlier date than would have otherwise been possible.
